Objectives

The client, a prominent entity in the high-tech manufacturing sector, required a new highvoltage (HV) power supply to support their cutting-edge £10 million clean room facilities.

This necessitated the construction of a new power substation and extensive reinforced concrete (RC) foundations including all service trenches across adjacent road into the main facility. COX Group were appointed to provide earth moving and civil engineering services.

Challenges

The construction site faced challenges due to utility diversions variable soil compositions, necessitating specialized excavation and foundation techniques.

Strict adherence to environmental and safety regulations was essential, alongside the need for extremely stable and precise foundation work for clean room facilities. Effective communication and collaboration among the client, contractors, and regulatory bodies were crucial for success.
