Objectives
To address water ingress and fire safety issues ahead of new multi-tenant occupancy including residential and commercial. The project involved the replacement of existing external rainscreen cladding, flat roof areas, glazed units and internal refurbishment. With COX acting as Principal Designer and Contractor and with close collaboration with the project team, the project was delivered on time and on budget.
Challenges
The unique building shape and site spatial constraints presented challenges with the scaffold design. Nevertheless, this was completed with minimal disruption to pedestrians, vehicles and neighbouring properties. Being located on Islington High Street, this also presented vehicular challenges to deliveries, waste and traffic management.
