Introduction
Following the success of the CAT B fit-out at the SJP offices in Cirencester, Cox Design Consult Construct was directly awarded a new project at SJP's Lombard Street offices in London. This project was a testament to COX's service excellence and high standards.
Objectives
The scope was to revamp multiple floors into a fresh and modern workspace conducive to dynamic working in the post-pandemic era. This included constructing various meeting spaces with high acoustic-rated metal frame glazed partitions and creating open-plan office areas with modern, inviting furniture. A key focus was on achieving a high level of client sensitivity and improving the building fabric for better acoustics.
Challenges
Live Commercial Environment: The fit-out had to be executed in a busy, operational office setting.
Design Adaptations: A significant design change was required midway through the fit-out, demanding flexibility and quick adaptation from COX.
Approach
COX brought its expertise to manage and execute this complex refurbishment, ensuring minimal disruption to SJP's daily operations.
The design focused on creating a workspace that fostered collaboration and flexibility, incorporating contemporary aesthetics.
Special attention was given to acoustic performance, necessitating enhancements to the building's existing fabric.
Adjustments to MEP services were carefully planned and executed in line with the new layout.
Despite the mid-project design change, COX effectively adapted the plan, ensuring continuity and efficiency.
Fit-Out Features
Acoustic Performance: Meeting spaces were equipped with high-grade acoustic partitions, enhancing privacy and concentration.
Open Plan Office: The areas were designed with modern, soft furniture, catering to comfort and aesthetic appeal.
Outcome
The project was successfully completed on time and within budget, meeting the high expectations set by the previous project in Cirencester.
Dynamic and Comfortable Workspace: The office was transformed into a space that supports modern working styles and post-pandemic needs.
Client Sensitivity: COX's response to the unexpected design change and their focus on acoustics demonstrated their commitment to client satisfaction and project quality.
Operational Efficiency: The project was executed in a way that caused minimal disruption to the ongoing activities at the SJP offices.
The CAT B fit-out at the SJP offices on Lombard Street is a prime example of COX's ability to deliver high-quality and bespoke office environments in challenging conditions. Their adaptability in the face of design changes and commitment to meeting client needs underlines their position as a leader in office design and construction. This project not only provided a vibrant and functional workspace for SJP but also reinforced COX's reputation for excellence in the sector.
